Does anyone remember about two years ago when Motley Crue sued Vans over the Tony Trujillo Vans/Skater of the Year ads? Well the band must be trying to do some damage control in the skateboarding world. Unfortunately, or maybe even, not surprisingly, TransWorld has already forgotten about the TNT/Crue debacle--well, or just plain decided not to have Tony's back. Dissapointing huh?

Dave Carnie: ...but what about hate in skateboarding? Everyone always says they skate for fun, and I do too, but there's this order part of me that just likes to go to the park and dis people. Like, "You fucking kooks." I really hate skateboarding sometimes.

Clint Peterson: The dark side. Yeah, that's human nature. We need that. Those kooks make it easier for people that try and actually think outside the tight pants, "die-trying" bubble. There is the hate involved with punishing yourself to learn something new. I can kickturn on a quarterpipe all day and still be happy, but I want to push myself for some reason. Very often, skateboarders pride themselves on their open-mindedness and how accepting they, and skateboarding as a whole, are to almost anyone else on Earth who rides a board.

How many times have you read some weak-ass editorial by some skate mag "writer/editor" or some "politically correct" quote from some spineless pro about how "skateboarding" is more important than "image," ethnicity, status, upbringing, sexual preferences, physical appearance, personality, etc.?

Or maybe they just want to be black. You'll have to excuse me if the following people aren't entirely full-on certified white boys. They sure look like it though. On a side note, there's a multitude of skaters who aren't white (perhaps Asian or Latino) that think they are black too, but that's far too complicated to figure out right now, and they almost seem to pull it off better. Besides, its more fun to make fun of the crackas. Anyhow, here's a list of whiteys who seem to be a bit confused. Feel free to add a few via comment if we left 'em out.

Has anyone else noticed that some of the biggest skateboarding publications in the world...publications that have a wealth of resources for photos, interviews, editorial, news, etc., produce the lamest, regurgitated, most half-ass content for their websites? Nothing like copying and pasting industry press releases and deeming it "news," right. Oh, and don't bother to look at what the other magazine's sites are doing either--just put up the same content as your competitors day after day, week after week. We wouldn't want you to actually be qualified for your job, ambitious or have to do any real work now, would we? The fact the these people are getting paid is frightening.

After seeing the new Plan B interview clip with Sal Barbier, Danny Way and Colin Mckay, I couldn�t help but comment on some things that I find a bit curious. Like Sal Barbier, for instance--milking it hard. If anyone cared what he had to say, Clyde Singleton wouldn�t have taken over all of Sal�s industry emcee gigs.

Shorty's just released a video called How To Go Pro. The DVD is so fucking bad that I can't even get into it. Everyone in it just flat-out sucks and Muska is a complete clown who's lost his ability to ride a skateboard. Furthermore, his "voiceovers" (original eh?) on how and why people are on the team are unbearable.

SkateCritic posted links to itself on both Slap's and Sacklunch's message boards today. The posts were removed. Slap only took about 10 minutes to take it down, while Sacklunch took a few hours. Some truths and opinions, even for the "rebellious and extreme" skateboarding industry, are too much to handle I suppose. I hate to say it because they are owned by a goddamn snowboard company, but Analog's ads are right on point: "You are being lied to."
